Last year, in our second year, for one of our modules we had to create some short wildlife videos. The first one is a short 2 minute video on Barnacle geese and the second is a 5 minute portrait of Windermere.

Starling murmuration
Tonight I visited Gretna Green watch the Starling murmuration. I watched in amazement as the sun set over the motorway. I enjoyed the contrast between a busy motorway and one of the most amazing wildlife spectacles that can be seen in the Autumn.
The shapes that they make in the sky are incredible and apparently there was around 750,000 starlings!

Trip and Cliburn Moss
Been on a trip for the weekend filming and photographing seals, this is a photograph of one of the pups that I managed to capture
Today I went to Cliburn Moss to see what I could find and my friend Cain wanted to try out his new lens.
I was sat by a tree watching this squirrel and a few others and i heard a rustling noise coming towards me.
It was clearly a dog and was sniffing around a lot.
It must have scared this little fox cos it was running and came and stood right in front of me
I was in shock so i only managed to get one picture but I was so happy :)

Ardnamurchan, Common Seals and Herons
Here are some photos and a couple of videos that I took in April in Ardnamurchan that I have just come across.
Better late than never!
Common Seals being lazy!

At first these seals were a bit wary of us but we were on the other side of the water on a rock at the bottom of a hill. If we didn't move too fast they were fine with us being there but kept their eyes on us incase we moved any closer!
This was the particular Heron that I watched from the hide we set up, it was slowly hunting for some tasty treats in the water!

Gambia, March 2011
I went to Gambia in March with uni for 2 weeks, it was great but very hot! Apart from the night life I did manage to get some wildlife photographs. It has taken me a while to get them up because I lost my memory card with them on! Thankfully I have managed to retreive my pictures and here are a few that I took while I was there.
Green Vervet Monkey
Gambian child waving at us
My friend Adelle with three Gambian kids
We had a photo competition while we were there, we had to enter unedited photos that used a bit of imagination and work to get, i entered this one and came in the top three with it :)
Green Vervet - particularly like this picture because of the light on the monkeys face and it seems as though it is in deep thought
African Monarch Butterfly
This is one of the watering holes that me and my group did a project on, we observed the behaviour of wildlife at watering holes and the effects of disturbance.
Red -eyed Dove

Honey Bee - Apis mellifera
Honey bees are so great, we have a few hives so there are thousands around the garden. I've taken some snaps today while it was nice

Summer 2011
This summer I have become even more fascinated with creepy crawlies! They're so amazing and they look like little monsters! Here are some of the pictures I have taken so far.
France. August 2011
This really amazed me, the beetles wing case and come off for some reason, revealing the wing underneith, it looks so robotic and perfectly crafted that I had to take a picture!
